About the Designer

Quinn Wharton is a trained classical dancer so design fit naturally into his upbringing. Ballet in particular is largely focused on aesthetics. The proportions of the body, the angle it is in, the dynamism of limbs in space in relation to each other—all of these things were slowly ingrained in him from a young age.
He spent 14 years studying the design of the body in space but it was during a period of injury in 2008 that Quinn started to experiment with the visual capturing and translation of those aesthetics. He wondered, "how do you take an art form that is movement and frame it in a still way, but in a way that translates all its movement and power?" These ideas influence all his imagery, from the dancers to the landscapes, to the architecture.
