Heaven’s Door is an award-winning collection of handcrafted American whiskeys developed in partnership with Bob Dylan. Their ever-evolving catalog of small-batch whiskeys features uncommon blends, special barrel finishes, and rare stocks. The perfect blend of art and craftsmanship, each bottle showcases Dylan’s distinctive welded iron gates that he created in his metalworking studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks.
Heaven’s Door Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled and aged in Tennessee, for a minimum 6 years in new American oak barrels with a flavor profile of vanilla and baking spices layered over a bed of toasted oak. The sour mash distillation process and non-chill filtered bottling allows this mature whiskey to remain consistent, as well as creating reliable flavor profiles that come from being aged in single story warehouses.
Tasting Notes
Begins with a nose of baked bread, buttered popcorn, and dried fruit with a smooth and lasting finish of caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Heaven’s Door Double Barrel Whiskey is comprised of a unique blend of three different whiskeys—two whiskeys from Tennessee with a traditional bourbon mash bill and a straight rye whiskey. Each of these whiskeys is aged independently in both new oak and fresh dumped bourbon barrels for at least six years before being married together and aged an additional year in virgin, heavy charred, American oak barrels. This proprietary finished barrel specification creates robust flavors of toasted hardwood in a dark, amber hued finished whiskey. Heaven’s Door Double Barrel Whiskey is maple charcoal mellowed after distillation, also known as the Lincoln County Process, resulting in a smooth finish.
Tasting Notes
This bold, complex whiskey is both rich and earthy, with deep aromas of toasted grains and oak. The palate recalls flavors of persimmon, mulberry, and fennel with a finish of crème caramel.
