They are not very hard. They are very flexible through the forefoot and
structurally sound in the heel cup. You will not feel stiff in the foot
while wearing them.
This insole is unique in that we don't prop up the arch like a normal insole. It does have some arch support but the corrective property comes from the alignment through the heel, which is different than all other over the counter insoles. This will allow your forefoot to move naturally without a stiff footbed that is uncomfortable.
