The Orb is the modern way to hide something in plain sight. This perfect, hollow sphere is precision machined out of solid aerospace aluminum; Progressive Products uses carbide tooling to carve out the inside of solid aluminum and create the threads so the two halves fit perfectly together. It's then given a satin finish before being anodized for a colorful and protective coating. The resulting, hand-assembled product is gorgeous and sleek, a 1.6" diameter storage chamber that you'll want to show off.

Tim Ames

Tim Ames is the designer and creator of the precision machined spherical keepsake container, The Orb. He’s passionate about using state of the art CNC machines and tools to create modern, sleek looking metal products that are just plain awesome. All of his items are manufactured by Progressive Products, a small machine shop on the central coast of California that Tim opened in 1995.

When The Orb was first launched on Kickstarter it reached over 1,000% of its funding goal. A few of Tim's more recent products include Keep’n-it, a ring holder that attaches to key rings; The UFOrb, a quantum ballistic saucer; Exotic Metal Orbs, sphere keepsake containers made of titanium, copper, stainless steel or brass; and The XL Orb, a supersized sphere.
