Is this really tiny or display size?

It is a normal porthole size. The sand art insert is approx 10 inches.

Can you mount it on the wall and turn it while it’s on the wall?

Yes! The Captain Haddock is designed to be put on the wall. Behind the sand art is a swivel that is preattached to the sand art. This nests neatly in the horseshoe shaped wall mount that screws to the wall.
