Pietra Gallery
Tynt // Brazilian Quartz and Pink Tourmaline + Boiled Glass Fusion Sculpture
Product Description
It requires patience to observe the subtle movements of the ink in the water. Much more patience when a liquid slowly forms a solid, as with this Brazilian quartz. With this piece, you can observe these phenomena without thinking about the passage of time. It is mounted on a custom-made acrylic base.
Glass artists Orfeo Quagliata and Ernesto Duran created the TYME collection with the shared idea to create visual compositions full of color and texture. Born in San Francisco in 1972, Quagliata was attracted to glass from an early age. He began apprenticing for his father, Narcissus Quagliata, at age 12. Duran, on the other hand, didn't discover his passion for glass art until he was 24 when he founded Pietra Gallery. He grew up with a love for nature and a passion for collecting minerals, which is translated in his work today.
