Lanternfly Trio // 11 x 14
Product Description
Lanternflies are an almost iconic bug in many tropical parts of the world because of their luscious, muted colors as well as their singular morphology. The bizarre projection that appears to be an elongated snout actually emanates from the top of the head — more reminiscent of an enormous dunce cap than an elephant’s trunk. The common name “Lanternfly” stems from the erroneous belief held for centuries that the bugs were capable of illuminating these mysterious, hollow cones.
Pheromone by Christopher Marley sells real, three dimensional natural artifacts exclusively. Specimens may vary slightly from those shown, but the photographs are representative of the pieces available for purchase. All colors are completely natural and un-retouched.
