1850s-1860s "Uncut Sheet" of $5 and $10 Obsolete Banknotes // Hagerstown Bank, MD // PMG Certified Gem Uncirculated 66EPQ
Product Description
During the period from around 1782 to 1866, when metal coinage was scarce in circulation and paper money as we know it did not exist, many private banks and corporations printed, issued, and circulated their own banknotes. Now referred to as obsolete or “broken” banknotes, these defunct notes served as an important means of currency in a cash poor nation. Offered here is a rare, "Uncut Sheet" of $5 and $10 Obsolete Banknotes, printed, but never issued, by the Hagerstown Bank in the state of Maryland, which operated from 1850’s and 1860’s. This impressive sheet includes two $5 notes and two $10 notes. The entire sheet is printed on bright, crisp paper with vivid gold and red coloring that is remarkable for its 150+ year old age. You will receive the exact sheet shown in the photos certified my PMG is the remarkable quality of CU66.
