Product Description

This 1837 Hard Times Token was issued as a replacement for the missing 1837 half-cent in which none were minted in that year. This item takes the place of the missing issue and is now standard amongst half-cent collectors. This piece is minted in copper and graded MS62BN by PCGS. Hard-times tokens were used in the United States during a time of financial crisis, serving as unofficial currency.

This example is an excellent condition collectible piece, providing the perfect way to remember this unique moment in American history. Hundreds of varieties exist, making the present-day collection of these interesting relics a challenging and fascinating endeavor. You will receive the unique token shown in the photos.
