1862 $5 Obsolete Bank Note // Savannah Georgia, Mechanics Savings & Loan // PMG Certified
Product Description
During the period from around 1782 to 1866, when metal coinage was scarce in circulation and paper money as we know it did not exist, many private banks and corporations printed, issued, and circulated their own banknotes. Now referred to as obsolete or “broken” banknotes, these defunct notes served as an important means of currency in a cash poor nation. Offered here is an interesting $5 obsolete note intentionally printed on recycled banknotes from the era issued, by the Mechanics Savings and Loan Association in Savannah Georgia. You will receive the exact note shown in the photos certified by PMG.
