Playboy Enterprises: Set of 2 Stock Certificates (1970's - 1990's)

Offered here are 2 vintage stock certificates issued during 2 different periods in Playboy history. The first is an early and scarce unissued specimen from the 1970s featuring a vignette of Willy Rey, Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for February, 1971— easily one of the most provocative vignettes to appear on the stock certificate of a publicly traded company. This certificate has the printed (not autographed) signature of Hugh Hefner and Playboy’s Vice President.

The second certificate was issued during the 1980s and 1990s and features a more modest, yet artful, vignette of a woman holding a globe against a cityscape background. This certificate has the printed (not autographed) signature of both Hugh Hefner and his daughter Christie Hefner and has been neatly canceled. It went public in 1971. Christie Hefner, daughter of Hugh Hefner, was the President from 1982 and Chairman of the Board and CEO from 1988, until she left the company in 2009.
