Old Modern Handicrafts
USS Constitution // Exclusive Edition
Product Description
Famed beyond measure, the U.S.S. Constitution set sail in 1798 with spikes forged by Paul Revere himself. The three-mast frigate waged war against Britain in the War of 1812, where it earned the sobriquet "Old Ironside." Salute its glory with this museum-quality, fully assembled model of the Constitution, now a national landmark docked in Boston. Admire magnificent details including metal anchors and cannons, authentic crow's nest, advanced intricate rigging, rolled sails, wood inlay hull, inlaid deck, an ornate stern and many more. No plastic parts!
Master craftsmen meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models using historical photographs, drawings, and original plans when possible. Each one is individually built to scale with high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany using a plank-on-frame construction method similar to the building of actual ships. Every model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop.
This is an “Exclusive Edition” where the model has a unique serial number etched into the hull to identify production date, material used, and all other production information of a model.
