Royal Opera House Side Elevations
Product Description
In 1889 Stockholm’s century-old royal opera house was demolished and replaced on the same site by a new royal opera house designed to better complement the nearby royal palace. The new building, or Operan, was the first, and by far the grandest, of five city theaters executed by Swedish architect Axel Johan Anderberg. It is one of Sweden’s proudest neo-classical buildings, with a wealth of classical detail imaginatively applied to the exterior.
