Dorian Gray
Product Description
The Dorian Gray candle is inspired by Oscar Wilde’s only novel, which is considered by many to be his finest work. It was first published in 1890, but worried it was indecent, the magazine editor cut about five hundred words from it without informing its author. Wilde insists in his Preface, “There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written. That’s all.” When critics attacked the work for its immorality, Wilde responded, “Leave my book, I beg you, to the immortality that it deserves”.
Remember the first sentence? "The studio was filled with the rich odor of roses, and when the light summer wind stirred amidst the trees of the garden, there came through the open door the heavy scent of the lilac or the more delicate perfume of the pink-flowering thorn." That's where the inspiration for this Dorian Gray candle scent came from.
