Their award winning Austrian distillery, located near the Rhine River and Swiss Border, has been perfecting small-batch, curated spirits for over 130 years.​ NEFT begins with pure spring water that has been filtered through slate and granite for 50 years far beneath the Rhaetian Alps before reaching their secured aquifer. The oxygen-rich water is so clean that it is naturally low in dissolved salts and ions, which is crucial for any ultra-premium vodka. As a result, no demineralization at the well is needed, enabling the final product to reject over-filtering and maintain the distinctive character of the mountain water.

Combined with only four-ancient non-GMO rye grains farmed in Lower Saxony – ​Amato, Askari Pollino and Rasant ​– and using a proprietary triple copper-pot distillation process with carbon layer filtering, NEFT needs only three distillations, striking just the right balance between being vodka and being a vodka with character.

NEFT is committed to being planet friendly and makes every effort to maintain a low-carbon footprint. The vodka is distilled and packaged in Austria – a world leader in agri-environmental programs – at the award-winning Destillerie Freihof, which is powered by low-carbon natural gas and moving towards 100% renewables. The barrel is made of tin, making it much lighter than glass and therefore carrying a smaller carbon footprint when transported. Tin is also easier to recycle than glass given the problematic issues of mixing together various colored glass which can lead to it being diverted back into the general waste stream.
