Will I have to worry about it changing colors?

This item is made of brass, which is a non-hypoallergenic base metal. Everyone has a different chemistry and sensitivity to base metals. If you have an allergy to non-hypoallergenic metals, it is possible to have a reaction. The plating is a standard level of rhodium electoplated to the base metal. It is recommended to make jewelry the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off in order to preserve the longevity of the finish. Exposure to chemicals, especially ammonia or chlorine should be avoided. If the chain needs to be cleaned, a gentle rinse under normal water and a light wipe with a soft cloth should do the trick. Avoid jewelry polishing cloths and sonic cleaners.
