Ancient Luristan Bronze Dagger // EARLY IRON AGE WEAPON
Product Description
A small Ancient Luristan Bronze Dagger. It features blue-green surface patinas, minor edge roughness, and is otherwise intact.
Luristan (or Lorestan) is a province of western Iran in the Zagros Mountains. This area was populated by migrant tribes in the 3rd and 4th millennium BC. The Cassites have left a rich legacy of metallurgical craftsmanship spanning the third and second millennia B.C. Their artifacts include numerous objects made of gold, silver, even iron; but their metal of preference was bronze, making the “Bronzes of Luristan” a renowned term among art historians and archaeologists.
The rich history and culture of this region has resulted in fascinating artifacts, especially known for their high quality bronze, that would make a fine addition to any collection of ancient art, weapons, and general items.
