Proto-Nazca Pre-Columbian Textile with Anthropomorphic Figure // Peru Ca. 100 BCE - 200 CE
Product Description
This Pre-Columbian Proto-Nazca Textile Fragment features an anthropomorphic figure with snake-like figures coming out of its head. An additional figure appears to be upside down with yellow eyes. This piece is framed and professionally sewn onto a blue cotton gauze background.
A wonder to behold, this pre-Columbian textile is a beautiful antiquity and authentic piece of art that has been preserved for centuries. Nazca, Chancay, Chimu, and Huari textiles are infinitely more delicate than wood, metal, or rock artifacts, and so the existence of these pieces after hundreds and thousands of years is especially exceptional. The textiles you find at Muzeion maintain their vibrant colors, natural threads, and unique, historical designs.
