Pre-Columbian Sacred Tumi with Monkeys // Peru Ca. 400-700 CE
Product Description
This beautiful copper Pre-Columbian Sacred Tumi with Monkeys features a crescentic blade at the bottom, a flat, short, and slender shaft, and a finger ring. The loop is finished with two relief monkeys engaged in banter -- they appear as if frozen in time.
In the Peruvian north coastal area, ornate Tumi knives were produced for ritual use by elite members of society. The ring functions as a stabilizer while using the knife.
