Product Description

Ban Chiang is an archeological site in Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, Thailand. It has been on the UNESCO world heritage list since 1992. Discovered in 1966, the site attracted enormous publicity due to its attractive red painted pottery.

This particular vase is 5,000 years old, featuring an egg shape body with a flared rim, standing on a pedestal base. Cream ground with an intricately painted red geometric linear decoration, there are mineral deposits present on the surface.

This piece was professionally restored from approximately 12 original pieces, with restoration over the break lines.
