Musha
Musha Asahina Zetsurin Katana
Product Description
From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged Zetsurin katana. The Zetsurin katana is a cross between a traditional katana and a shirasaya. Featuring a full tang 1045 high carbon steel blade, this resilient katana is sharp right out of the box.
The Zetsurin katana is unique because it does not use any tsuba. Other than the missing tsuba, the tsuka (handle) is just like a traditional katana with fuchi, kashira, and menuki. This helps keep the lines of the katana sleek and unobstructed by the sudden change of shape of the tsuba.
Another unique feature of this sword is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, which enables the user to wield the katana more smoothly, and puts less stress on the hands— perfect for advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.
All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. With this Zetsurin you are free to add any style Tusba to turn it into a traditional katana.
