Musha Takeda Shingen Kenshin Katana
Product Description
From the Musha Daimyo series comes this intricately hand forged battle ready “Takeda Shingen” Black Katana. Full tang 1045 high carbon steel makes this a resilient katana that is sharp right out of the box.
The unique detail of the Maru Gata style tsuba depicts the legendary Daimyo. Takeda Shingen was a powerful daimyo (or feudal lord) of 16th century Japan and one of the most famous military leaders of Japan. Born in the Kai province, he earned exceptional military prestige for his martial prowess on the battlefield in the late Sengoku period, garnering the nickname “The Tiger of Kai."
Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin were famous rivals. The feud between The “Tiger of Kai” and “The Dragon of Echigo” was legendary. They faced each other on the battlefield five times in the famous Battles of Kawanakajima.
A unique feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, which enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands.
All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. The Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira all can be swapped out for a different sets. The real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.
