Product Description

From the Musashi Silver Collection Shirakawa Series comes this intricately hand crafted Sengoku Katana. Hand-forged from 1060 high carbon steel using the Maru-kitae technique, this razor-sharp blade is beautiful, resilient, and finished with a unique hamon pattern. The detailed maru-gata style copper tsuba depicts the sengoku period, a period where the shogun ruled. The copper kashira and fuchi also display an intricate ocean wave theme. The wood handle is real ray skin wrapped in traditional black cotton cord.

A unique feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as a "blood groove," but that is a misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the blade so it is easier to wield and puts less stress on the hands. It also helps with some advance cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.

Included with this katana is a sword bag. Each sword is individually numbered on the tang with matching certificate of authenticity
