From the Musashi Gold Collection Zheng WU series comes this intricately hand crafted limited edition “Sea Dragon” Katan by Master Sword Smith Chris Zhou. Hand forged using 1095 high carbon steel with over 2000 layers, this katana is a must-have for any serious collector or practitioner of the way of the samurai.
The blade features a Gunome hamon with a unique twist. Thanks to a special technique, Master Zhou manages to create a slight Damascus pattern on the hamon. The handle is real ray skin wrapped in black cotton cord and the fittings are made of brass. The Mokko Gata style brass tsuba features a crashing ocean wave design on one side and a dragon partially submerged in the sea on the other.
Award Winning Master Swordsmith Chris Zhou is one of the finest sword smiths in China. With over 35 years of experience, he has become a well known and respected master swordsmith worldwide. He has forged swords for some of China's top officials, including Ulanhu (the former Vice Chairman of China), and Xi Zhongxun (the Deputy Prime Minister of China). His "Han Wu Sword" was ranked # 1 in the well-known Masters of Fire competition, and was also chosen for display at the Macao Art Museum. Currently, he is the curator of the Longquan Zheng Wu Sword Forging Institute and for the Longquan Sword Museum.
