The Nagamaki is a rarely seen and highly collectible sword style. The nagamaki was used by infantry and foot soldiers for use against mounted cavalry riders. With a long blade and extremely long handle, this sword could generate enough force to cut through heavy targets with ease.

The blade is hand forged carbon steel with a full length bohi. The handle is wrapped with black cotton ito over real white samegawa on the ends. The center portion is flat braided with red ito and there are two iron reinforcing rings along the tsuka. There are four antiqued dragon menuki total and the fuchi and kashira are made of steel. The saya scabbard is black lacquered with gold engraved kanji and a double rings design. The nakago or tang extends through most of the handle, about 25 inches.
