RIZE Spinning Ferrofluid Display
Product Description
Ferrofluid is an iron-rich suspension fluid that becomes strongly magnetized in the presence of a magnetic field. It was originally invented in 1963 by NASA's Steve Papell as a liquid rocket fuel that could be drawn toward a pump inlet using magnets in zero gravity. And while it was never effective as rocket fuel, it does create an incredible art display.
RIZE is a glass capsule full of Ferrofluid, that generates a magnetic field in its housing, magnetizes the center spike in order to manipulate the fluid, making it spike, spin, and slowly rise up when placed on its magnetic base. It's similar to a lava lamp, but way more space age, and with no heat required.
