Skull With Cigarette 1885 by Vincent van Gogh // Triptych (3 Piece: 40"L x 60"H)
Product Description
Skull with Cigarette is one of only a few paintings that van Gogh did of skulls or skeletons. Scholars suspect it is a humorous comment on conservative academic practices. This is based on the fact that van Gogh called the university classes that he was taking at the time boring, and insisted that they taught him nothing.
Giclee canvas printing is the most authentic way to reproduce the nuances of fine art painting. This piece is printed as a triptych on a series of three canvases.

About the Designer
Vincent van Gogh (1853—1890) went from relative obscurity during his lifetime to becoming one of the most recognized names in 19th century art. The Dutch post-Impressionist painter's work is characterized by rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color. Unfortunately, he did not start painting until his 20's and died at the young age of 37.
