Can this be used and stored outdoors?

The product may definitely be used outdoors, but after it cools you would want to bring it inside.

The product is a powder coated roll formed steel but not stainless. So if it spends too much time in the rain or snow, it will start to oxidize.

Is the back flat?

The back is not flat actually, it follows the rounded design all the way through to the back.

How many square feet does it heat up?

Each can of fuel gives off 3,000 BTU's. When all three fuel cans are in use it produces enough warmth for a medium size room.

Is this safe for indoor use, and is the hood hot to the touch?

Yes, this fireplace is designed for indoor use and the hood will get heated when the fuel cans are in use.

How to you get the fuel refills? How much do they cost?

Fuel is available for purchase from Terraflame.com in quantities of 12 and 24 packs. They also offer a fuel club membership that offers customers a 15% discount on each fuel club order with the flexibility of setting their reoccurring orders from monthly to semi-annually.

Can this be used outdoors and is it weather proof?

The Lloyd is designed for indoor use.
It can certainly be enjoyed outdoors but we would recommend brining it inside after it cools to prevent rusting.

At three(3) cans & 3 hours per use, what’s the cost for an average month’s use?

That would depend on how frequenty you plan to use it.

Can I use this for regular wood burning?

It’s not recommended. Wood burning stoves need to be vented and fluted, and the gel fuel for this indoor fire feature burns clean without fluting.

Is it safe to use under my mental patio cover?

The product is designed primarily for indoor use. It can certainly be used outdoors, but we do not recommend storing it outdoors long term.

Is there a cover for it that would protect it from the weather, if I want to keep it outside on my patio?

We do not offer a cover at this time as it is primarily designed for indoor use.

Is assembly required?

Yes, some assembly is required.

Does it throw off a decent amount of heat?

Each can of fuel produces 3,000 BTU's so when all three cans are lit, it will warm up a small space fairly quickly.

Do you use a lighter or does it have a built in starter?

Yes, you would use a lighter to light each can of fuel individually.

Is the top cover removable?

Yes, the flute comes separate and would need to be inserted into the main triangular piece for assembly.
