40MM Nato Filter
Product Description
The NATO-standard, 40-mm NBC-77 SOF Gas Mask Filter Canister reliably protects air passages against a wide range of harmful and highly toxic substances when used in combination with a full-face mask like the CM-6M CBRN tactical gas mask. With an impressive 20 year shelf life, this filter is made with standard round threads from hard plastic, resulting in a very robust product that is extremely durable against shock and impact damage in operational use. It is rated to provide protection against solid and liquid particles, bacteria, viruses, radioactive particles, smoke-producing substances, riot control agents, choking agents, blood agents, nerve agents, incapacitants, herbicides, pesticides, and other toxic industrial chemicals.

FAQ
As long as the only threat is viral particles, filters will last for as long as you can wear the mask in one sitting. Removing the mask, however, would mean you have to discard the filter. You cannot decontaminate the inside of a filter, so after one use, it becomes toxic waste. When you come back home from a supply run, you would have to fully decontaminate and learn proper doffing procedures (the industry term for removal of personal protective equipment).
Do note that respirator filters are disposable products, meant for one single use. For your safety, we do not recommend re-using a filter that's been exposed to contaminants. As part of decontamination, you would dispose of the filter in accordance with local laws.
On a different note, you can also refer to CDC's guidelines if you would like to learn more about re-using a filter. As new information is constantly released regarding COVID-19, it would be best to refer to CDC's guidelines on how long you'll need to quarantine an exposed filter before you can re-use it against viral and bacterial threats.
However, the NBC-77 SOF is classified as a "combined filter" and can filter all known CBRN agents, including radioactive iodine, rated for A2B2E2K2HgSXP3 D R. For such agents, its usage time depends on a few factors, including atmospheric conditions, contaminant type, concentration, along with your breathing rate.
