Constructed and drawn on the computer, the Open Square Pendant is output on a 3D printer by selective laser sintering in nylon. The handmade gold plated accents contrast with the nylon material to complete the design. The geometric shapes are interwoven in nylon fabric, emitting a web-like jewelry creation to be worn by the modern woman.

Through the use of modern machines and industrial processes, as well as traditional craft techniques, Melissa creates pieces that play with the way people see things. "I want to surprise and delight people with the unexpected movement, function and materials in my work and open their eyes to new possibilities."
