Product Description

Besides being a geometric wonder, the Ultimate Solid of Constant Width is an intriguing shape that helps with concentration. Its origins fall in the work of Leonhard Euler, who discovered that the Reuleaux triangle had a persistent width regardless of its orientation. Exploring more, it was discovered that the intersection of four spheres with the same radius, centered at the vertices of a regular tetrahedron with the same side length, created a volumetric version of a Reuleaux Triangle, except it didn't have the constant width.

Dan Bergerud then found a solution to a constant width with true symmetry. He replaced the edges with an envelope of spheres. It can now be visualized as a sphere in the middle axis of the envelope moving the x-direction as it decreases its radius to each size. Unlike most spheres, the Ultimate Solid of Constant Width can keep its width while rotating in any axis.

Perfect for thinkers, makers, visionaries, learners, and more, this collection of intriguing desk sculptures connects us with the basic elements and the core of the universe.
