The Sphericon
Product Description
The Sephericon family is a group of Paradoxical Solids— a three-dimensional figure with geometrical characteristics that seem self-contradictory. They're constructed by cutting a solid geometric shape in half and rejoining it at a 90° turn. Discovered by Colin J. Roberts, Sephericon's center of gravity always remains at the same height above the floor on which it rolls.
Sephericons are special because when they roll, every single point of its surface touches the ground. Although the motion may seem random, it's really moving in a predictable direction. Watching it move can help improve concentration when focusing on its edges that materialize rationality.
Perfect for thinkers, makers, visionaries, learners, and more, this collection of intriguing desk sculptures connects us with the basic elements and the core of the universe.
