The Dance Lesson, c.1879 // Edgar Degas
Product Description
Edgar Degas (1834 – 1917) was a French artist famous for his paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings. Regarded as a founder of the Impressionist movement, he was known for rejecting the term, calling himself a "realist" instead. Most of his work depicts movement, and he is especially famous for drawing dancers. His portraits are notable for their psychological complexity, and for their portrayal of human isolation.
