Ammonite
Product Description
Ammonites are a class of cephalopod that existed during the Jurassic and Crustaceous Periods. This specimen was alive about 130 million years ago. After the ammonite died, the shell settled into the sediment within the body of water it lived in. Over many, many years, minerals carried by the water surrounding the shell settled into crevices of the sediment. In this case, the water carried pyrite which settled on the interior lining of each chamber of the shell (the gold outlining).
Then, another stage of mineralization occurred where calcite filled the entire void of each chamber creating the tiger stripe pattern. When discovered, the shells were polished to expose the crystallization resulting in this fantastic natural objet d’art.
Ammonites are a natural occurring example of the Fibonacci sequence. The Fibonacci sequence refers to a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. Though this pattern isn’t immediately apparent when looking at the ammonite, they do indeed exhibit this anomaly.
The Ammonite is a very powerful earth healing fossil. Its spiral shape symbolizes continual change and evolution and draws off all negative energies. As the negative energy enters the shell, it draws in these dense energies, which are no longer needed. Moving the negative energy through the spirals and releasing them as fresh, positive, loving life force energies.
