The Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso is an important member of truly historic watches. At first, the swiveling design was intended to protect the dial and the mechanism from shocks and abrasions while playing polo while allowing for the display of personalization (e.g. engravings) on the back side of the watch. The Reverso has been a flagship line in Jaeger LeCoultre's catalog ever since it was released in 1931--today, the Reverso has seen many reimaginings, and further complications. Some now have two different dials (one on either side), tourbillons, chronographs, or perpetual calendars.
