Cubo Connect is played by joining the cubes tangentially by the use of one of their edges, thus liberating the figures from the more predictable, mechanical logic of the supporting function. The game uses a three-dimensional construction system in which flat, polygonal pieces with tongue-and-groove edges are used to build straight, regular-shaped prisms. These prisms can then be joined to other prisms, creating virtually unlimited series and forms in which the adjoining prisms can be built out in any directions desired. An important aspect of the system is the way in which the prisms are joined — which leads to curious, unexpected optical impressions.
