Luciteria
Lucite Cube // Selenium
Product Description
Selenium is little known other than for its use in dandruff shampoo and as a vitamin supplement of dubious medical value... hardly a glamorous claim to fame.
Things are more interesting on the chemistry side with this particular element having several different allotropes. Gray is the most readily available followed by black and the quite rare red form which is little more than a lab curiosity.
Although the gray allotrope - like this one - is the most common, the industrial samples typically come as ugly small spheres. Here, a special casting has turned the sample into a nest of crazy swirls to help you better appreciate the texture and character.
