This Genuine Kanab Goldenstone Sandstone Plate is over 70 million years old. Each horizontal layer represents millions of years of formation on the Earth in which sediment, sand, mud, rock debris, shell fragments and more were deposited. The weight of these millions of years of deposits has hardened the sand into solid stone, which when cut properly creates unique sandstone imagery. Kanab Goldenstone sandstone has been specially cut by a family of stonecutters from stone on their family property in Kanab, Utah.
