Sydney Opera House

In 1956 the State of New South Wales ran an international competition for a National Opera House at Bennelong Point, Sydney. This attracted more than 220 entries from 32 countries. Jørn Utzon, a young Danish architect, won the competition. Completed in 1973, the Sydney Opera House was instantly hailed as an architectural masterpiece and was included in Australia's National Heritage List in 2005.

In 2007 the building was inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO which declared that, “Sydney Opera House is a great architectural work of the 20th century. It represents multiple strands of creativity, both in architectural form and structural design, a great urban sculpture carefully set in a remarkable waterscape and a world-famous iconic building."

Each kit comes complete with all required parts. All you’ll need to provide is a good quality glue, a knife to remove individual parts from their sheets, and a flat work surface to construct the model. To assemble this scale model, you will need a flat work surface that is at least 18" by 18"; white glue, brands like Elmers or Titebond Premium work well; and a knife to separate wood parts from the sheets.
