Product Description

These worker’s double gable cottages developed from the need to accommodate a growing family. Single gabled homes provided only one or two rooms. The simplest way to provide more space was to build two adjoining houses or to build on to an existing house with an identical extension. This created the double gable or ‘M’ shaped roof profile. Today we might call it a "double-wide."

The gable is the most common form of roof in many parts of the world. Two sloped planes meet at the peak to form a horizontal ridge line. This model features wonderful details, including the finely modeled front and back porch railings, window sills, door details, and more.

A great, one-evening kind of project, this kit includes wooden parts and sandpaper. Wood glue is required to complete the model and is not included with the kit. Not in the mood to build it yourself? Choose the Finished Model version.

To assemble this scale model, you will need a flat work surface that is at least 18" by 18"; white glue, brands like Elmers or Titebond Premium work well; and a knife to separate wood parts from the sheets.
