This 18x24 original print of a section of an old growth pine from Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah has been printed on white 70lb 18x24" paper. The image itself is approximately 12" in diameter, and this print is especially interesting because the unique shape is most likely a result of damage from an avalanche. The Albion Basin Pine has begun to grow around the scar tissue, though.

Counting the rings on a cross-section of a tree trunk from the center pith to the outer bark will tell you how old the tree is. Each year, a tree grows a new ring. You can see where branches were located when the tree was younger by looking for v-shaped notches in the rings. This original image is printed with raised ink, and has been pressed and signed by the artist.
