Leadhead Glass
The Mendel Terrarium
Product Description
The Mendel Terrarium is a great planter for taller pieces, like orchids, or any other indoor plants that deserves a special home. With a tall design that is narrow enough to fit on a bookshelf, it's a great choice for those that have less counter space. It features a distinctive geometric roof design with art deco styling, and takes its name from Gregor Mendel, the founder of modern Genetics. In 1866 Gregor published his seminal work on the recessive and dominant nature of genes in pea pod plants.
Lead Head Glass terrariums are handcrafted out of reclaimed glass from deconstructed homes in Detroit, Michigan. They model their terrariums as an updated version of the 19th century Wardian Case - originally used to transport exotic plants around the globe, and to provide an ideal environment to raise your own miniature garden in. Every Lead Head Glass Terrarium is made to order, and is as unique as the glass it's made from.
