Kengo Knives
Galapagos
Product Description
Fashioned with the spirit of the rare species of the Galapagos in mind, this folder has a full brass handle with a hand crafted picture of a bird flying across the ocean, decorated with two feathers closing in from each end. The liner lock mechanism is also composed of brass and includes our Peaks filework all throughout. The spine of the blade and the handle also is adorned in the same style of filework. The blade includes a thumb stub for easy opening and increased usability. Forged with an easy release tab on the liner lock mechanism, it is easier to release the locking mechanism. With an overall size of 9" and an odd blade size of 3.6", this knife was designed with a small amount of curvature to keep it mostly straight yet slightly more inviting to hold. This knife is rather heavy due to it's mostly brass composure, and weighs in at 340g. While it may not be ideal for outdoors work, it is still a fully capable knife and can handle any task a 3-4" blade could handle with ease. The steels we use for our Damascus blend are 15n20(2% nickel blend steel) and 1095 High Carbon Steel (~1% carbon blend steel), and are susceptible to rust like any high carbon blades. With proper care this knife will last a lifetime. Every knife ships with a sheath and care sheet, to assist you in caring for your new knife.
