The Smart Wood Foot Rest was born from a never-ending desire to refine and hone Kartell’s projects and craftsmanship. Developed by Philippe Starck, the creative concept was born with idea of taking wood and transforming it into an industrial product.
Using patented technology, a single fine layer of wood is worked with a mold to bring the curvature of the panel to the very edges, to create a seat with unprecedented roundness. Kartell has bent the material three-dimensionally in two directions. Even the side sections become welcoming curves that offer maximum comfort.
