"The Dark Side" features a small schooner boat sailing into the dark corner of a room. The boat portrayed in this piece is the artist's homebuilt schooner, and the dark room in the background is the corner of an old bunker from World War 2. As a child, discovering old buildings such as this was one of the artist's most exciting endeavors. When he later started painting, his artwork filled the gaps between past and present.
