"La Felcissima" is a piece depicting the goodbye ceremony of a small Spanish fleet. In the 16th century, the Spanish called their fleet "La Felcissima Armada," meaning "The Blissful Fleet." The open dessert is visible in the background, signifying the unknown which adventurers used to set out to discover. A chart of the then-known world dominates the foreground, along with a latitude-adjustable sun clock, a very unique instrument which is almost forgotten today.
