Jura Signature Series 18 Year Old Whisky is a full-bodied single malt whisky. Matured for eighteen long years in American White Oak ex bourbon barrels, this whisky is then beautifully enriched by superior Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques from the South of France. The result is an incredibly rich and fruity whisky, with flavors of cooked raspberries, warm spice, rich caramel, and crème anglaise.

Scotland may have many islands, but the Isle of Jura is like no other. Home to more than 5,000 deer and less than 200 islanders, there is only one road, one pub, and one distillery. The tiny island community finds time stretched by the changing seasons and tempered by the unique microclimate. The Gaelic term for the community on Jura is ‘Diurach’, which also means tough. Diurachs believe anything is possible. After all, there are easier places to make whisky. It’s this same spirit that goes into distilling Jura Single Malt Scotch Whisky, giving it qualities like no other.

Three key elements of their production process allow them to create a sweet and subtly smoky house style of Single Malt Scotch Whisky that is balanced and accessible.

They source the water for their incredible whisky right at the top of the tallest mountain range on the island, The Paps of Jura. The water, or sometimes snow, filters down the mountain range and into the Market Loch below. This water then makes its way down to the distillery via streams and waterfalls. Their exceptionally tall stills are some of the tallest in Scotland, and used to distill a new make spirit that is light, citrus, and pine in character. Distilled peated malted barley is used sparingly to provide a subtle smoke to all their whiskies.
