Product Description
The Overhead™ Carbon Fiber Collapsible Travel Guitar uses a patented collapsible neck system which allows for assembly and disassembly in a matter of seconds. After packing in its travel backpack, the Overhead travel guitar can be carried-on to most major airlines and easily fits in the overhead bin compartment. The included travel backpack even features a TSA compliant fold-out panel for your laptop or tablet, which can be scanned by airport security without having to remove it completely.
A full 24.5" scale, a versatile 1 3/4 nut width, best-in-class components, and an ergonomic design make this the most enjoyable guitar you’ll ever play! The wedge design angles the guitar into your body, which places it in a comfortable position for fingerboard access and viewing. This wedge design also gives a lower shoulder/bout depth that allows the smaller body size to deliver great volume and booming bass.
The Scoop-away™ design provides full access to all 20 frets, yet maximizes inner air volume of the instrument for maximum acoustical volume. A bone nut, compensated bone saddle, and ebony bridge pins all help produce a tone preferred by acoustic guitarists, while the proprietary under-bridge transducer pickup system accurately amplifies the guitar. An offset sound-hole design maximizes the resonance and volume of the soundboard. The addition of proprietary bracing and layup structure produces a spectacular tone for such a compact instrument.
All the core components are made from pre-impregnated carbon fiber materials. This translates into 10-20 times the amount of carbon fiber found in guitars that are injection-molded. It features a dual-action adjustable truss rods to let you fine-tune curvature for maximum playability. The stainless steel hardware and mechanisms have been cycle-tested for 4000 assembly processes, so they’re super precise and reliable. It's adjustable on the fly too. With the twist of a knob, you can go from ultra low fingerstyle action, to heavy-handed cowboy strumming and maintain maximum comfort and playability for each style.
The included backpack is ideal for traveling with your Overhead™ Collapsible Travel Guitar, as well as all your go-to electronics. In Addition to the TSA compliant 14" computer compartment, it also features an easy-access tablet pocket, an internal and externally accessible compartment for accessories, and an additional external topside pocket. Hideaway, reinforced padded backpack straps with a padded back, along with padded top and side handles make it comfortable to carry throughout your travels.

Care: For general smudges and fingerprints, use a saline solution and a clean microfibre cloth. For deeper scratches or dings, use polyurethane-friendly buffing compound or polish. For cleaning fretboards on wood guitars, use the traditional lemon oil treatment.

Please Note:
— Every airline has their own policy, so be sure to read the policies of the airlines on which you fly. In General, all Journey Instruments fit in the overhead bins on medium and large sized airplanes like the Boeing 737, 747 and the Air Bus. For smaller propeller planes and jets with 4 seats across or less, they recommend the Overhead or Puddle Jumper models.
— After assembling the neck, the collapsible wood guitars are usually less than a semitone off pitch. Journey recommends pulling on the strings before tuning to pitch to help them settle.
