Woks are fantastic for stir fry which is one of the most essential cooking style in Chinese cuisine. The JIA Companion Wok is made of carbon steel with no chemical coating and features fast heat transfer. The wok has a large radius with flat bottom which is suitable for transitional gas stove as well as modern IH stove, electric stove, and ceramic stove. The wok features a bump texture on the inside, which creates air-pockets to reduce overall the surface are touching the food, resulting in a naturally non-stick wok.

Is the lid pictured included?

Yes - This wok includes the lid shown.

Is it pre-seasoned?

No - This wok needs to be seasoned before use by first rinsing with water, then drying over low heat. Once dry, apply a small amount of cooking oil to the inside surface and spread evenly with a clean cloth.

Is the bottom rounded or flat?

The bottom of this wok is flat and will make good contact with an electric cook top.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No - due to the wooden handle, this wok should be hand washed with hot water if the pan is hot and cold water if the pan has cooled.

How much does it weigh?

A complete wok weighs about 6lbs. Without the lid, they weigh about 3lbs 13oz. The lid weighs 2lbs 4oz.
