Product Description

Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) was an American artist who first achieved fame as part of SAMO© - an informal graffiti duo who wrote enigmatic epigrams in the cultural hotbed of the Lower East Side of Manhattan during the late 1970s. By the 1980s, he was exhibiting his neo-expressionist paintings in galleries and museums internationally. Jean-Michel Basquiat effectively introduced the unique African-American and Latino experience to the elite art world with his eye-catching eccentric style.

On May 18, 2017, at a Sotheby's auction, Basquiat's 1982 untitled painting depicting a skull, set a new record high for any U.S. artist at auction, selling for $110,500,000.

This special collection of Basquiat prints are done on art paper, and mounted on 3/8" wood board, finished with a UF coating to protect against moisture, dust, dirt, and fingerprints. A mount is braced in the back for easy hanging.
